Information about the Microsoft DreamSpark Program (Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance) at UNT

The DreamSpark Program makes Microsoft software available to college students at substantially-reduced prices, or even for free.  As of Fall 2012, only two Denton-campus departments have subscriptions: ITDS and Computer Science.

The ITDS Department purchased a DreamSpark subscription for use ONLY BY OFFICIAL ITDS (BCIS, DSCI, MSCI) MAJORS who are currently enrolled for classes.  If you meet this requirement, go here to sign in:  http://e5.onthehub.com/WebStore/ProductsByMajorVersionList.aspx?ws=5fec3138-eb9b-e011-969d-0030487d8897&vsro=8&JSEnabled=1

If you are not a currently-enrolled BCIS/DSCI/MSCI major, the ITDS Department cannot help you with this program.

Most Microsoft programs have restrictions on how they can be used, so please investigate and understand those constraints before downloading.

Usually the downloads come as .ISO-formatted files.  You must either (a) burn a CD or DVD from the ISO file (http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows7/Burn-a-CD-or-DVD-from-an-ISO-file) or (b) “mount” the ISO file (make the computer think the ISO file is another drive) using a third-party tool (ex., http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGCS7zkpwLo).  Regardless of the method you pick, only then can you actually install the desired software.
