Services at Discovery Park

The Center for Student Affairs (CSA) strives to make daily life easier for students while on the Discovery Park campus. The Discovery Park campus is open 7 days a week from 6am – midnight. Here is a quick list of services to help students adjust to life at DP.

UNT Shuttle

The UNT Shuttle provides fare free transportation between Main campus and Discovery Park. The Discovery Park route serves Discovery Park until 5:20pm, Monday through Thursday, and until 7:00pm on Friday. The Campus Cruiser route serves Discovery Park from 5:30pm-10:25pm Monday through Thursday and 8:30am until 7:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.

E-Ride Late Night Transportation

Students are able to request late night transportation between locations on the main campus and Discovery Park by calling 940.565.3014. This service is available from 9:00pm-2:00am, 7 days a week.

Parking Services

All students parking at the Discovery Park campus must register their vehicle with Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) and purchase a parking permit. Meters are also available for hourly parking for individuals without a parking permit. Prepaid meter cards can be purchased at the PTS office.

Dining Services

Discovery Park has a retail dining operation called Park Place Market that features a hot daily entrée option, made-to-order grill options, deli sandwiches, and various baked goods. Green Mountain Coffee serves freshly brewed coffee and specialty drinks.

Vending Machines

Vending machines featuring drinks, snacks and coffee can be found in the following locations:
C139 (first floor – end of the hallway past Materials Science Engineering)
C116 (first floor – end of the hallway past Mechanical & Energy Engineering)
C204 (second floor – student lounge near Computer Science Engineering)

Lost & Found

The College of Engineering Dean’s Office (A140) serves as the building lost and found.

Mail/Copies

There is a mail room and copier available on the first floor of Discovery Park. Mail service is restricted to interdepartmental and outgoing departmental mail ONLY. No USPS service is available. A coin fed copier is available for general use.

Career Center

The UNT Career Center has a satellite office on the Discovery Park campus. Students needing assistance with internships or career advice can make an appointment to speak with a counselor.

DP Library

There is a library at Discovery Park to serve the needs of students, faculty and staff in the College of Engineering and the College of Information. They also offer a variety of services including workshops, reserves, interlibrary loan, private study, scanners and laptop and whiteboard checkout.

Learning Center

Learning Center. The Learning Center has several programs to enhance learning and facilitate academic excellence for students. E2 is a tutoring program specifically for engineers.

General Access Labs

The General Access computer labs at DP are provided as a service to currently enrolled students with their UNT ID.

Student Lounge

There is a student lounge located on the first floor, near the coffee shop. It has two large-screen TV’s, video games (PS3 and Wii) and dining/relaxing space.

Recreation

In addition to video gaming, students can check-out pool, table tennis and athletic equipment from the CSA Office in G140. There is a basketball half-court located at the back of DP and an indoor walking path. There are also footballs, Frisbees, volleyball, soccer and badminton equipment available with a valid UNT ID.
