Our purpose as peer advocates is to provide knowledge-based, confidential advising and consulting for students. We are available to answer questions regarding the discipline process, a student's specific discipline case, and any questions regarding the Code of Student Conduct and the Dean of Students Office. We are here to provide support and assistance throughout the entire discipline process. We can also help students prepare for their conference with a Dean of Students Representative.

Prior to the hearing we can:

  1. Meet with the student to begin preparation for the conference including writing the formal statement and organizing the case and calling witnesses.
  2. Answer any questions and explain the Code of Student Conduct.
  3. Explain the procedures and options available to the student.
  4. Refer students to the appropriate campus resources and offices when necessary.

After the conference we can explain any sanctions, answer any questions, and assist students with beginning the review process if necessary.

The peer advocates also present programs and workshops for student groups. Current programs include: ethical decision making, values based decision making, conflict management and resolution, ethics in leadership, and many more.  Programs can also be customized per the organizational characteristics and needs. To schedule a program, contact the peer advocates today!
