  • Grassley Disappointed in Renewable Fuel Volumes

    The EPA released a final rule that improves the volume requirements under the Renewable Fuel Standard over its last proposal but still underestimates the capacity for farmers and ethanol and biodiesel producers to generate enough renewable fuel to meet higher goals.  Senator Grassley says the rule “sells biofuels short.”

    The False Claims Act, originally signed into law by President Lincoln, was the first anti-fraud tool to help root out unpatriotic war profiteers.  After the law was shelved for many years, Senator Grassley revived what is now called the federal government’s greatest tool to root out fraud.  Senator Grassley’s 1986 amendments to what is commonly known as “Lincoln’s Law” have saved the taxpayers more than $44 billion and deterred untold billions more.  Senator Grassley continues to work aggressively to ensure this law continues to curb wasteful spending and protect patriotic Americans who blow the whistle on fraud and corruption.
