United Way Student Leaders at UNT

The College of Public Affairs & Community Service is excited to sponsor the first United Way student organization in North Texas.  With the support from United Way of Denton County, United Way of Metro Dallas and United Way of Tarrant County students, staff, faculty and community leaders have developed the United Way Student Leaders (UWSL) at UNT.  With the mission of preparing future nonprofit professionals through service learning in partnership with United Way, UWSL focuses on three main areas:

  • Addressing Social Issues and Solutions
  • Preparing Professionals for the Nonprofit World
  • Serving the Community

This unique program provides students with competency development through hands on experience, professional networks and opportunities to serve.  As a professional development United Way Student Organization it partners with local United Ways to grow a talent pool for employment while serving in the community.
