For consideration into the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program, all applicants must:

Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (must possess U.S. Permanent Resident card. Will not accept letters of application for permanent residency)
Complete the pre-pharmacy prerequisites prior to matriculation
Achieve a minimum overall 2.50 grade point average on prerequisite coursework Important Note: If an applicant elects an exemption for general coursework requirements based on a completed bachelor’s (or higher) degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, then only his/her math and science prerequisite coursework will be included in the GPA calculation.
Must have a minimum of a 40 composite percentile on the PCAT (Pharmacy College Admissions Test) in order to apply
Obtain three (3) letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation must be from a person, who can comment on the applicant’s academic, volunteer, and/or employment experiences and attributes. Letters of recommendation from friends and family members are not accepted
Apply for admission via PharmCAS www.pharmcas.org
Submit a UNT System College of Pharmacy Supplemental Application: https://apps.unthsc.edu/PharmApp
Submit a non-refundable supplemental application fee (Money Order) of $100.00 made payable to UNT System College of Pharmacy (Please do not send a blank money order)

Note: A bachelor’s degree is not required.

A criminal background check and drug screening will be required for applicants offered admission.

Grade Point Average

A 2.50 minimum overall grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale is required to be considered for admission review. If a course has been failed or repeated, all attempts are used in the calculation of the grade point average. However, the Admissions Committee will consider all grade trends.

Admissions Test (PCAT)

All applicants are required to take the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) and have a minimum of a 40 composite percentile to apply. Applicants must complete the PCAT by October prior to the year they plan to start the PharmD program.

Our PCAT school code is 104.

The PCAT must have been completed within the last three (3) years.
