The UNT Interior Design program is committed to the idea that interior designers have a responsibility to provide sustainable solutions that both improve the physical environment and protect the safety of the inhabitants. In addition to design fundamentals, interior designers need to be knowledgeable about:
- Technical drawing and drafting
- Computer-aided drawing and design
- Information gathering and research
- Materials, finishes and furniture selection
- Presentation and communication
- Interior construction
- Lighting and building systems
- Federal, state and local building codes and regulations
