How to Apply
Application Requirements
The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree (students that are completing their final semester at the time of application are eligible to apply). The admissions committee considers all components of the application when making an admissions decision. Application files are not complete and will not be reviewed until all supporting documentation, including the application fee, are received. To be considered for admission, the applicant must file the following official credentials with the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences:
- Online application
- $40 application fee (waived for McNair scholars with documentation of participation)
- Official transcripts from each and every college/University attended
- Two recommendation letters
- Official test scores (depending on the program of interest: GRE, MCAT or DAT)
- A TOEFL or IELTS score is also required for international applicants
- The reporting code for the GRE or TOEFL is 6909.
- Supplemental materials (e.g. resume/CV) will be considered but are not required.

Deadlines
All application materials must be received by the deadline. All application materials submitted become the property of UNT Health Science Center and cannot be returned. Applications are not accepted for Spring semesters.

It is highly recommended that non-U.S. citizens apply well in advance of these deadlines to allow preparation of immigration documents.
Important: All GSBS admissions committees review files on a rolling basis. The earlier your application file is complete, the sooner your file will be reviewed. Applications must include transcripts with Fall 2015 grades (if enrolled in classes for Fall 2015) and a copy of spring registration (if enrolled for Spring 2016).
- Applicants who are currently enrolled in the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine or School of Health Professions and are applying for the graduate portion of a dual degree program should complete the application and select “General” for the academic plan. Once the application has been submitted, these applicants should then notify the admissions office by email gotogradschool@unthsc.edu of the specific dual degree program to which they are applying.
- Students at University of North Texas (UNT) requesting enrollment for classes to transfer to UNT for their degree programs should e-mail their request to gotogradschool@unthsc.edu rather than completing an application.
