TxDOT has identified potential planned improvements along the Interstate 30 corridor from Oakland Boulevard to SH 161 as the region is able to identify future funding. Construction was completed in 2010 on the I-30 Mobility Improvement Project to reconstruct I-30 in Arlington. This project began the value pricing lanes in Tarrant County that link to downtown Dallas and will be operated by the Dallas Area Rapid Transit.

Currently under development are proposed improvements to I-30 from Cooper Street to SH 161. The ultimate project would improve capacity for I-30 by constructing additional main lanes (two lanes each way), adding collector-distributor roads and converting the concurrent managed lanes to a reversible two-lane managed facility. A key part of the proposed improvements is a fully directional interchange at I-30 and SH 360.
