According to the Texas Transportation Institute's 2010 study, I-10 between Loop 1604 and Huebner Road is one of the most congested areas of San Antonio and one of the three most heavily trafficked segments of road in the San Antonio metro area. The $44 million expansion to relieve this congestion is under construction and on track for completion in 2015.

When construction is finished, the following improvements to help get you to your family quicker each day by increasing traffic flow and reducing congestion points.

• Addition of at least one main lane in each direction
• Elimination of a redundant west-bound on-ramp at the Huebner Oaks shopping center
• Elimination of a redundant west-bound off-ramp at DeZavala
• Addition of a turnaround at UTSA Boulevard for east-bound traffic
