TxDOT is planning to realign and reconstruct I-20 in Eastland County from approximately 3.5 miles east of Loop 254 to .5 miles east of SH 16. This 2-mile project will improve safety by reducing the steep grade and improving the curves at Ranger Hill.

Improvements to address safety and mobility include:

• Up to three 12-foot traffic lanes in each direction with 10-foot shoulders
• New continuous frontage roads
• Safety rest area entrance/exit ramps

The project will require the acquisition of new right of way but an estimated amount is not yet available.

Schedule

• Public Meeting Two – Fall 2015
• Completion of schematic – Fall 2015
• Right-of-way map complete – Spring 2016
• Public Hearing – Spring 2016
• EA complete – Summer 2016
• Construction plans complete – Fall 2016
• Current financial forecasts estimate construction funds available in late 2016
