The US 281 bridge replacement project over Lake Marble Falls is currently underway. TxDOT is replacing the 1930’s steel bridge with two new concrete structures.
Once the project is fully complete, the two new concrete bridges will allow for safer travel. Currently, traffic is traveling on the northbound bridge, two lanes in each direction, while the existing bridge is being demolished and rebuilt for the future southbound structure. Ultimately, each new bridge will have the following:
