Christopher D. Caron, P.E.

Christopher D. Caron, P.E., is the district engineer for TxDOT's Yoakum District.

The district is composed of Austin, Calhoun, Colorado, DeWitt, Fayette, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, Matagorda, Victoria and Wharton Counties. Caron oversees the planning, designing, building, operation and maintenance of the multi-modal state transportation system for the 11-county district.

Caron began his TxDOT career as a summer hire in 1984 while attending college, and joined the department full-time in 1990 in the Corpus Christi District as a member of the Karnes City Area Office. In 1995, Caron was selected as assistant area engineer for the George West Area Office and, two years later, became the area engineer for the Alice Area Office. Caron briefly served as the Beaumont area engineer from 2011-2012, before returning to the Corpus Christi District as deputy district engineer. Caron began his duties as Yoakum district engineer on May 1, 2015.

A George West native, Caron graduated from Southwestern University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and from Texas A&M University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He earned his Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in 1995.
