​Median U-turns

The median U-turn (MUT) intersection shifts left turns out of the intersection. Traffic that desires to turn left makes a U-turn in the median beyond the main intersection, and then a right turn at the intersection. Eliminating the left turn at the main intersection simplifies signal timing and provides more green time and less congestion. An MUT is being considered for the intersection of Parmer and Lamar.
