What You Can Do on the Map
What the Dots Represent
The dots represent the locations of projects funded by Recovery contracts, grants, and loans awarded from February 17, 2009 to June 30, 2012. The job numbers for each project are for Quarter 2, 2012 (April 1, 2012 - JUne 30, 2012) only.
The Map Colors
The darker the color, the more funds were awarded in that area.
Project Map Data vs. Home Page Map Data
The data on this map may be different from data on the home page map for several reasons:
- On this map, sub-recipient dollar amounts are connected to their prime recipients' project locations, no matter where the sub-recipient is located. However, on the home page map, dollar totals for each state include the prime recipients and their sub-recipients in the state, minus the dollar amounts for a prime recipient’s sub-recipients outside the state. The state totals also include sub-recipients in the state with primes outside the state.
- State Codes - On this map, the projects are geocoded to the address, state, or zip provided by the recipient. The home page map is based strictly on the state code provided by the recipient. If a recipient in Maryland mistakenly entered MA as the location for the project, funds for that project are allocated to the state of Massachusetts, not Maryland.
