What’s new at Business Licenses?

Business Operating Conditions 
Another community meeting is scheduled for the Business Advisory Group Meeting, Tuesday, September 12, 2012, at the US Bank Conference Room, 919 East Lake Street, 2:00 - 3:30 pm. (September 4, 2012)

A meeting open to the public is scheduled on August 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Pohlad Room at the Downtown Library to discuss proposed changes to Chapters 259 and 362 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances related to placing reasonable restrictions on a business, if merited. (August 10, 2012)

Youth Fundraising - Registration Required
If the youth (ages 17 and under) in your organization or school are fundraising, registration and ID badges are required.  There is no registration fee.

Business License Fees - No increase in 2013
License fees in 2013 will not increase.   The Minneapolis City Council approved to keep the same rates as 2012.   Fees are charged for every new license and annually for each existing business license in Minneapolis.  Pollution Control Annual Billing Fees (PCAB) will increase 3%.  

Business License Information Program (BLIP)

Brochures and videos for business owners, license applicants, and customers are available in our electronic library.  Topics include hailing a taxi, hiring a contractor, hosting a catered event, and more.  Information is also available in Español, Hmoob, and Soomaaliga. No library card required.
