Today's Ozone Forecasts
Nine Texas communities are participating in the Ozone Forecast Program: Austin, Beaumont-Port Arthur, Dallas-Fort Worth, Corpus Christi, Victoria, Houston-Galveston-Brazoria, San Antonio, El Paso-Juarez, and Tyler-Longview-Marshall. The table below provides information about whether Ozone is forecast to reach target levels in the affected area.
This table also lists the current peak one-hour and eight-hour concentrations and the corresponding Air Quality Index (AQI) rating for ozone for October 6, 2009. These ozone measurements are in parts per billion (ppb). The forecast is updated by 3:00 p.m. each day.
The following Ozone Forecast was updated at 3:00 pm CDT on October 5, 2009.

There are no one-hour samples available for this metropolitan area for October 6, 2009. |
There are not enough one-hour samples available to create a valid eight-hour sample for this metropolitan area for October 6, 2009. |
There is not enough data available to calculate a AQI for this metropolitan area for October 6, 2009. |
¹ These metropolitan areas have other, non-TCEQ operated monitors that contribute to the overall forecast assessment of the area. Data from these sites is not included in this table. |
PLEASE NOTE: This data has not been verified by the TCEQ and may change. This is the most current data, but it is not official until it has been certified by our technical staff. Data is collected from TCEQ ambient monitoring sites and may include data collected by other outside agencies. |

Interpreting the AQI
Each NAAQS pollutant has a separate AQI scale, with an AQI rating of 100 corresponding to the concentration of the Federal Standard for that pollutant. Additional information about the AQI and how it can be used is available from the EPA .
The AQI scale is divided into the following categories:
AQI | Air Quality | Color |
0 - 50 | Good | | 51 - 100 | Moderate | | 101 - 150 | Unhealthy for sensitive groups | | 151 - 200 | Unhealthy | | 201 - 300 | Very Unhealthy | | 301 + | Hazardous | |
