Airtel gets $2.5 bln credit line from China banks

Bharti Airtel has received financing commitments of up to $2.5 billion from top Chinese banks as it tries to invest in the growth of data networks across its global operations. Bharti Airtel, which operates in 20 countries, said on Saturday that China Development Bank had committed a $2 billion credit line, while Industrial and Commercial Bank of China has offered a $500 million credit line.  Full Article

India scales back army corps facing China

India's government has scaled back a plan to establish a new army corps to counter Chinese forces across the Himalayas, defence sources said, pouring funds instead into a new aircraft carrier and border roads. Stung by a 21-day face off on the disputed border two years ago, India announced the establishment of a mountain strike force consisting of 90,000 troops, estimated to cost $10 billion.  Read

Honda Motor to recall 11,381 cars in India
