Fisheries Management

Several of the methods Texas fisheries managers use for trying to create optimally sustainable fisheries populations are highlighted in this section. These techniques include fish hatcheries for breeding and stocking various species in need of enhancement or restoration; an overview of freshwater and marine research facilities, programs, and technical reports; and a database application that uses compiled coastal data collected for the last 30 years using standardized sampling protocols.
