August 2009 State Sales Tax Collections To General Revenue
State sales tax net collections* deposited to general revenue totaled $1,752.2 million in August 2009. Compared with the $2,002.3 million collected in August 2008, this represents a decrease of 12.5 percent.
These figures refer only to state sales tax collections.
Local sales tax collections (not including the boat and boat motor tax, which does not have a local component) may show different growth rates, depending on changes in local rates, changes in jurisdictional extent, and local economic events.
*Includes the limited sales and use tax and the boat and boat motor sales tax.
