Number Squares 1.1, designed by Phil Shapiro and Dave Lyons. Published by Balloons Software. Copyright 1989 by Phil Shapiro. Instructions: "1. Use the Arrow Keys. 2. Think."
Many of you will be familiar already with the hand-held, plastic version of the number squares game. The hand-held version is widely available at toy stores, and has been a favorite puzzle for years.
This computer program builds upon the original number squares game, adding a number of features to increase the fun and appeal of the game. This disk offers fifteen different number square puzzles with each of the puzzles having a whole range of difficulty levels. Each puzzle also has a timer and point system to reward you for your level of performance. The object of the number square game is simple: Use the powers of reasoning to rearrange the number back into numerical order. The numbers should increase in order from the top left to the bottom-right corner of the puzzle.
Use the four arrow keys to move the numbers around. (Apple II+ owners can use the A and Z keys instead of the up and down arrows.) You may only move adjacent numbers into the open square. Numbers may not be move diagonally across the puzzle. Enjoy!
