Competing Bills Filed Over End-of-Life Care for Pregnant Women

Lawmakers have filed two competing bills about who should have the authority to decide whether to terminate a brain-dead pregnant woman's life — a preview of what promises to be a fiery legislative battle over end-of-life medical care in Texas.

Liberia's Last Ebola Patient is Released

An important milestone was reached when the last person known to have Ebola in Liberia was discharged from medical care earlier this month, just months after the disease caused bodies to pile up in the streets.

Affordable Care Act Enrollment Hits 11.7 Million

Nearly 11.7 million people either signed up or re-enrolled for insurance coverage under the U.S. health care reform law by mid-March, which is considerably more than the 9.1 million predicted by the Obama administration.
