Looking at stories and trends in property tax assessments. Anyone have a problem with the auditor's assessment in your mailbox this week?
@liz_foreman @jamespilcher Spring 2007 survey @consumerreports: Bell best in value and reliability; TWC best in performance and cust service
@liz_foreman Interesting. I'm considering switching to Road Runner from Zoomtown. What don't you like about TWC service?
Young families move out: Census finds Liberty Twp. leads Ohio rankings http://tinyurl.com/5un3wq
Running MySQL subqueries inside subqueries between linked aliased tables on embargoed census data. I mean this in every way: I need help.
Poring over embargoed American Community Survey data in a (so far) vain attempt to find a trend -- any trend -- I can hang a news story on.
Finishing up work on an outstanding USA Today investigation (with a strong Cincinnati connection) running Monday. Buy USA Today Monday!
Public service announcement: Free training for laid off Gannett journalists @webbmedia. Can't vouch for the provider, but it's free.

Rolling out crowdsourced Christmas decoration database: http://dunes.cincinnati.com... Do not open until Advent.
Was just told that auditor and recorder data don't line up in Hamilton County. Why? Because John Cleves Symmes fouled up the survey in 1785.
@tcallinan This was top gripe at journalism conference last week. Makes it all but impossible to tackle topics like interracial adoption.
The Associated Press says "knuckleball" is now one word. Please make a note of it.
Today's headlines remind me of that classic NY Daily News headline: "Ford to City: Drop Dead." This time it's "Congress to Ford: Drop Dead."
