Cold night for all with further bands of hail, sleet and snow showers feeding in on the brisk westerly winds with local thunder, especially in western areas where there is also a risk of ice. Fewer showers in the east.
A Met Office weather warning of snow and ice affecting central Scotland is upgraded from yellow to amber.
