Universal Orlando Resort will begin its holiday festivities on Dec. 6, which should result in some new trickle-down business for the area.
The theme park's holiday events and festivities include Universal's Macy's Holiday Parade, Grinchmas and performances by Mannheim Steamroller on select nights.
The events run from Dec. 6-Jan. 3.
Alongside Universal's events, other theme park holiday festivities like Walt Disney World's Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, SeaWorld's Christmas Celebration and Legoland Florida's Christmas Bricktacular all help draw tourists to the region during the winter and create room nights and sales for the local tourism and hospitality industries.
Universal has never released attendance numbers during its holiday events, but experts say theme park holiday events can draw hundreds of thousands of visitors to the region each year.
