Battleground Misfires on Turnout Memo
Oops.
Battleground Texas, a liberal group working to boost Democratic hopes in conservative Texas, admitted Friday that it was wrong in claiming that early voter turnout in the state's 70 largest counties was rising dramatically from the last gubernatorial election in 2010.
In a memo early Friday by Battleground senior adviser Jeremy Bird, a former top field organizer for Barack Obama, the Democratic group claimed early voting had increased by more than a third so far and that Democratically leaning voters — non-whites in particular — were turning out in much larger numbers than four years ago.
But that analysis fell ...

This is more than discouraging.

I think I would rather work in elections that are run at the local level.

And it was the Trib caught them with their ridiculous exaggeration? A case of blue 'friendly fire'.
We WOULD like to thank them for burning many millions here in Texas that could have actually gone to states that might- you know- help the Dems hold the Senate.

I voted yesterday after work. I was the only voter in the place. I was expecting a line. The whole process took less that 10 minutes.

Heh what's new progressives caught lying. Just more proof Wendy's going to lose big maybe a record loss when are Democrats going to realize Texas is a center right state and run a moderate.

It is not beneath liberals to lie and skew numbers in their favor. No morals or scruples = anything they do is not wrong.

Not being native Texans they cannot use the old excuse that there are "a product of the Texas public schools". Guess the schools are about the same anywhere.

It should come as no surprise that ACORN (aka Battleground Texas) got caught flat footed trying to cheat and lie.
VOTE FOR WENDY! SHE'LL PUT A CHICKEN IN EVERY POT AND A DILDO IN EVERY................oh never mind.

Maybe once they see the final results, they will realize that Texas is only getting redder, not turning blue. I look forward to seeing them pack up and leave Texas, and take the few liberals we have here with them.

Yeah, my wife and I voted the other day and there was only one other person there.
I'm a Democrat to the end, but the notion of a blue Texas in 2014 was a pipe dream. It will happen, Repubs. Hispanic numbers are rising to quickly and you guys are too clueless as to how to woo their votes, so Texas will turn, but not until, at the earliest, 2020.

Some of the greatest contributions in the history of mankind were made after much trial and error...now all of you who like to dance on the dead man's grave dance...but those who continue to pick themselves upt and strive for a better tomorrow will always win...the republican party will lose badly in time because they are containers with no room for growth ..some day they will be seen as the wooly mammoth ...buried in ice...
William Ardis
Because of course the republic party would never ever lie or exaggerate or mislead, would they?

In all honesty the Secretary of State's policy should track all the counties in Texas and post their results on the website to clear everything up! That should end some of the number speculation, but also still maintain the 15 populous counties. Better yet! Show all the counties in populous number from A-Z in who is leading the way in Early voting! Instead of having Battleground Texas issuing out memos on inconclusive metrics data!

Let them keep lying. Then the rest of the damnocrats will feel comfortable tostay home on election day because of their awesome lead.

Geez - they made a mistake! Not the same thing as a lie! Would you quit already with the headline material?
Leigh Williams via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Lying? Nonsense. Working with data from the Secretary of State, who evidently can't be bothered to maintain it.

B.s. in politics ? No !

The turnout in my county is way up! And, that is in spite of the roadblocks put up by the right. When people come out to vote, we all win. Texas isn't a red state at all; its a non-voting state. That is what we are working to change.
Hayden Maisoneuve Yates via Texas Tribune on Facebook
I will say this... I liberal lie is equal to hundreds of conservative lies.... No doubt about that FACT!

What is sad is that all of this Rep Voters are going to VOTE for Party Color instead of helping the state.
That is Sad.
