The Factory

UNT Libraries: The Factory

New Maker Space Available in Willis Library

The Factory is a space that promotes the cooperative and creative use of technology. It offers UNT students, faculty and staff access to equipment and software that promotes innovative learning. This page describes the workspace and the equipment contained within it.

Because The Factory is very early in its development, please check back here for updates to our services, and to provide feedback and ideas to expand the space and make it useful!  You can also follow us on Twitter @TheFactoryUNT and our Facebook Page!

Video, Photography, & More

Thanks to funding from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, the UNT Libraries will be one of the few libraries in the country to make Google Glass available for checkout to students and faculty.  The device can be used to record videos and photographs from a first person perspective, and can do a number of other tasks, hands free. We are also going to be making several DSLR cameras and other related photographic equipment available as well. As with other items in the Makerspace, we are still working out the circulation details on this equipment.

  • Google Glass (1x) When available, will circulate for 3 days at a time.
  • DSLR Camera(s), Lenses, accessories. Make, Quantity, Specific items, and circulation periods TBD.
