Audiovisual Transfer Station

The Media Library has launched our new free, self-service Audiovisual Transfer Station. This station is located in the Media Library viewing carrels and can transfer VHS tapes to DVD as well as well as accommodate an external device such as a digital camcorder from which to record. 

About this service:

  • Use of this station is free of charge.
  • This station is self-service.  Very limited hands-on assistance is available.
  • Users must bring their own blank recordable media (DVD-R, DVD-RW,  VHS)
  • Copyright notice: This station should be used for the legal transfer of materials. Legal uses may include:
    • Transferring content for which you own the copyright (home movies, personal recordings)
    • Transferring content when you have received permission from the copyright holder.
    • Transferring materials in the public domain
    • Transferring materials using the Fair Use doctrine


Fee Based Services

The UNT Media is temporarily ending our fee-based transfer service for patron’s personal materials. We expect this service to reopen in spring 2015. In the meantime, please consider using the Audiovisual Transfer Station.
