LA SALLE COUNTY ADVANCES FIRE SERVICE AND SAFETY FOR COMMUNITY

The New La Salle County Fire Department project sets a new precedence: Advancing fire service strategically positions the community for future growth and sustainability

La Salle County takes another step towards keeping their community safe, meeting the demands of their dynamic growth and preparing for future sustainability. On November 15, 2013 the La Salle County Fire Department project was officially launched. The project will include adding paid fire department staff, building new fire stations, purchasing new fire trucks, PPE and safety equipment.

To commemorate this special day Fire Chief Johnny Gomez hosted a Cadet Volunteer Day with 16 firefighter cadets from Travis County. The young men and women spent the day at the Cotulla Fire Station doing a deep cleaning of the facility and grounds, maintenance to equipment and giving special care to the fire trucks. Jack Showers, Senior Stakeholder Relations Advisor from Talisman Energy USA Inc. dropped by the event to present a check for $34,000.00 towards the new fire department project to aid in purchasing PPE and breathing apparatus. Talisman Energy is the first to step forward and support this much needed safety effort to advance emergency response service.
