Riverside Campus

Located 10 miles from the main campus of Texas A&M University, The Riverside Campus is home to many testing facilities that accommodate a wide variety of multidisciplinary transportation research and implementation projects. Riverside provides the realistic conditions needed for crash testing, pavement friction and smoothness testing, erosion control product testing, and traffic engineering studies.

The site has large expanses of concrete runways and parking aprons that are ideally suited for experimental research and testing in the areas of vehicle performance and handling, vehicle-roadway interaction, visibility, distracted driving, driver training, the durability and efficacy of highway pavements, and the safety of structural systems. The potential for expansion of research and testing activities to other problem areas in the transportation field is almost unlimited.
