ST. LOUIS • A teenager from Florissant was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon in an alley near the 8700 block of Annetta Street, just north of Calvary Cemetery.

Steven Taylor, 18, lived in the 2900 block of Willow Creek Estates in Florissant.

Police say Taylor was shot in the shoulder and found dead at about 3:50 p.m. Wednesday in the alley behind Annetta Street.

Four other teenage males, ages 17 or 18, told police that Taylor had been the driver of a car they were in. Taylor got out to talk to three men he knew. The men pulled guns and started firing at Taylor.

The four teens ran off, uninjured; they came back to find Taylor had been shot.

Taylor's killing was the 127th homicide case in St. Louis this year, and another later Wednesday was the 128th. Last year at this time there had been 97 homicides. For all of 2013, there were 120.
