The City of Southlake is currently accepting applications for Firefighter / Paramedic. Please read the information and application instructions listed below. Firefighter Recruit Pay: $41,110.20 + benefits.
Firefighter / Paramedic Pay: $50,935.53 + benefits.

City of Southlake Minimum Requirements
The below requirements MUST be met to be considered for employment with the City of Southlake.
Must be 19 years old.
Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
Valid Texas Class B Drivers' license.
Possession of Paramedic certification from the Texas Department of Health or National Registry Paramedic certification is required .
Students graduating Paramedic school on or before May 1, 2014 will be considered.
Possession of Texas Commission Basic Fire Protection certification is preferred.
Must successfully pass a Physical Ability Test (PAT) and written examination.
Must have the ability to pass all pre-employment screenings to include: an extensive background investigation, a polygraph, psychological exam, physical and drug screen.
Application Process
Complete an online City application (here ).
Complete and submit the Physical Agility Test (PAT) form on or before the written test date.
Complete and submit PHS at the written test.
Take the PAT, if needed.
Take the written test, if you pass the PAT.
Submit your PHS at the written test.

Physical Ability Test
The City of Southlake utilizes Tarrant County College (TCC) to conduct Physical Ability Testing (PAT) for Firefighter / Paramedic applicants. Upon successful completion of the PAT, participants will be issued a certificate of completion. Applicants do not need to register for the PAT if you have a completion certificate on or after January 1, 2014. Applicants must provide a copy of the certificate of completion to Human Resources.

Registration:
Complete the Registration Form and return it to the City of Southlake.
Check-in:
Check-in will begin promptly at 8:00 am.
Candidates who arrive after 8:00 am will not be permitted to test.
You must have a valid photo ID to take the test and have pre-registered.
Personal History Statement
Applicants must complete a
Personal History Statement (PHS) . The PHS is a main source to identifying applicants that are able to be invited to an Oral Board. Please be sure your PHS is completed in its entirety, notarized and copies of all certifications asked are included. Your PHS must turned in to Human Resources at the written examination.
NOTE: All PDF forms are fillable, but require Adobe Professional software to save and email. Forms may be printed, signed and then faxed, scanned and emailed, or dropped off in person.
Notaries are available and free in most banks, libraries and municipalities.
Written Test
The written test is conducted by the City of Southlake. Successful completion of the written exam is 70% or higher.

Applicants will be notified of their written test results via email following the exam. Applicants who do not pass any of the required tests are welcome to re-test on the next available test date.
