Florida State and Ole Miss will reportedly open the 2016 season in the recently reconstructed Orlando's Citrus Bowl.

The rumored ACC-SEC battle was confirmed by ESPN's Brett McMurphy on Thursday. Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork had previously told the Clarion-Ledger that a verbal agreement was in place for a neutral site game in 2016, but the location and opponent were not confirmed until now.

The stadium is set to reopen later this month after major reconstruction. The first football game on the new field will be Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M's meeting in "The Florida Classic."

The SEC and the ACC have both adopted a 8+1 scheduling method, where each school schedules eight conference games and at least one non-conference game against a school from one of the power five conferences.

While Florida State meets this requirement annually thanks to its rivalry game against Florida, Ole Miss currently has Memphis, Wofford and Georgia Southern as its confirmed non-conference games for 2016.
