DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas Independent School District trustee Bernadette Nutall has filed a criminal complaint against school district superintendent Mike Miles. The trustee believes that Miles violated law when he had her forcibly removed from a South Dallas campus two weeks ago.

“It’s official oppression,” Nutall explained as the reason for her filing.

State law defines official oppression as a public servant who intentionally subjects someone to mistreatment or arrest that is knowingly unlawful.

On October 13, Miles contacted school district police after he and Nutall argued over her access to a staff meeting at Dade Middle School. Campus security surveillance recordings show DISD police officers physically removing Nutall from the building. The recording also shows Miles watching the police action.

Since the incident, Nutall’s supporters have called for Miles to resign.

A spokesman for Miles said that the superintendent was attending a conference on Friday morning. A formal statement about the matter could be released later in the day.
