DENVER (AP) — A group of marijuana dispensaries in Denver is trying again to launch a marketing plan with neighboring shops that don’t sell pot.

The dispensaries sprinkled along South Broadway in Denver hope that by branding the entire area, they’ll be able to skirt advertising restrictions on the marijuana industry. Pot shops aren’t allowed to advertise on billboards or on radio or TV, and Denver International Airport won’t permit them to advertise.

The pot shops asked neighboring antiques shops about joining forces. The first meeting was rocky, with antiques shops saying they want to keep marketing the area “Antique Row,” even though they have many marijuana-related neighbors.

The two sides meet again Thursday to try brokering a partnership for the holiday shopping season.
