DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Police hope an autopsy Wednesday yields more information about the death of a 75-year-old woman found hog-tied inside her apartment west of Atlanta.

Douglasville Police Chief Chris Womack said Tuesday there were no signs of forced entry into Florene Duke’s apartment. She was found dead Monday evening.

Douglas County Coroner Randy Daniel tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that there were no obvious signs of trauma to her body.

Womack said Duke was bound and gagged with her hands and feet behind her and her face down. He tells WXIA-TV that police haven’t ruled out the possibility she was tied up during a robbery and died later because she was constrained.

Womack said Duke was a kind-hearted person who would let people stay with her if they had no other place to go.
