Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP)

The Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act – MAP 21 contains several requirements related to metropolitan and statewide planning. This document incorporates metropolitan and rural area Transportation Improvement Programs (TIPs) into a 2015-2018 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) as required under Title 23, US Code, Section 135 - Statewide Transportation Planning.

Transit Administrative Announcements

Federal planning regulations (23 CFR Part 450) allow states and metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) to make minor adjustments to TIPs and STIPs without a formal public involvement process at either the local or state level.

For transit, these amendments may be accomplished via correspondence with TxDOT.
