This must be the Season of the Witch. Not only did the brilliantly warped minds behind American Horror Story, Ryan and Murphy and Brad Falchuk, create a Coven of them for Season 3, but they also made the witchiest woman of them all part of it. And Stevie Nicks couldn't be more delighted.
After the last two episodes of "American Horror Story: Coven" nearly lulled me into a coma (except for the always-stellar work of the veteran cast), finally, finally, everything is starting to make sense.
Death has become so inconsequential on "American Horror Story: Coven" that nearly everyone who was killed off in the past is now walking the earth with the living. The way things are going, it doesn't seem like a good thing.
The last thing we need on "American Horror Story: Coven" is another character, but our non-wish (as is usually the case) is Ryan Murphy's command.

When American Horror Story chose New Orleans as the setting for the 3rd season, they decided to go balls-out Southern Gothic. From slave-torturing immortal bitches to a coven of misfit belles trying to control their powers and wanton desires.
It's pretty much an all-out war in New Orleans. At the very least there's a big one brewing, and this week's episode pits multiple warring factions against each other: Fiona vs. Delia, Fiona vs. The Council, Fiona vs. Marie (OK, so it's mostly everyone against Fiona), and the voodoo witches vs. the Robichaux witches.
So why do we care so much about the witch at this particular cultural moment? Perhaps its because we seem obsessed with the "mysteries of womanhood."
