Chris Martin, Ed Sheeran to perform at Stevie Wonder Grammy tribute

Coldplay's Chris Martin, R&B powerhouse Usher and Ed Sheeran are among the artists who will pay homage to Stevie Wonder for a Grammy-tribute telecast.

"Stevie Wonder: Songs in the Key of Life -- An All-Star Grammy Salute" is also to feature Willie Nelson and Janelle Monae tackling a wide range of songs from Wonder's catalog. Wonder performed at last year's telecast with Pharrell Williams and album of the year winners Daft Punk.

Wonder is himself a 25-time Grammy winner, having obtained album of the year nods for 1973's "Innervisions," 1974's "Fulfillingness' First Finale" and 1976's "Songs in the Key of Life." Nelson leads the pack of tribute performers with 11 Grammys to his name, while Usher has eight and Martin seven of his own. Sheeran is up for three Grammys this year, including album of the year, best pop vocal album and best song written for visual media.

The announcement of the Wonder tribute comes just days after the first round of performers was revealed for the Grammys' live...

Taylor Swift, Metallica, No Doubt lead Rock in Rio USA lineup

Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Metallica, Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran are among the acts who will top the first Rock in Rio USA festival.

Set for consecutive weekends in May at a newly constructed site on the Las Vegas Strip, Rock in Rio will split its lineup between rock and pop and will boast more than 100 acts.

No Doubt, Maná, Metallica and Linkin Park will anchor the first, rock-leaning weekend of the festival, scheduled for May 8-9. The alt-metal Deftones lead the highlights of weekend one's bill, which also includes Foster the People, Gary Clark Jr., Rise Against, Sepultura, Coheed and Cambria and others.

The second weekend of the festival (May 15-16) will focus on pop radio hitmakers and global superstars, with platinum acts Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran in marquee slots.

Grammy-nominated British soul singer Sam Smith leads the bill along with John Legend, Empire of the Sun, Ivete Sangalo and Jessie J. A number of buzzy acts spinning new twists on pop dot the second...

Eric Church, AC/DC, Ariana Grande and others to perform at the Grammys

Another day, another high-profile AC/DC show booked for Southern California.

The Aussie rockers will join country star Eric Church, pop-R&B siren Ariana Grande, folk singer Ed Sheeran and pop vet Madonna in the first round of live performers at the 57th annual Grammy Awards.

Among these performers, Church is up for the most awards this year, with four nods -- Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song, Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Country Album.

Sheeran has three nominations, for Album Of The Year, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Song Written For Visual Media. Grande clocks in with two, for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album.

The more veteran artists, however are among those with the biggest buzz. AC/DC was just announced as the headliner for this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, where their stomping '70s rock is just retro and populist enough to please hipsters and mainstream rock fans alike.

Madonna's electro-infused album...

The Weeknd arrested over weekend for allegedly punching police officer

The Weeknd's songs are rife with late-night misbehavior. But they're much less alluring when the actual police get involved.

The experimental R&B singer born Abel Tesfaye was arrested early Saturday morning in Las Vegas at the Cromwell hotel on the Strip. Police arrived at the hotel after reports of an altercation around 4:20 a.m.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson Laura Meltzer told Billboard that when officers intervened, Tesfaye allegedly struck one of them in the head with his fist.

The singer was then booked on one count of misdemeanor battery of a protected person. Later that night, Tesfaye posted bail - and posted a picture to Instagram that showed him walking to a private plane. The picture was captioned "Escaped from Las Vegas."

The Weeknd recently headlined the Hollywood Bowl with ScHoolboy Q and Jhene Aiko, and released a new single, "Earned It," for the much-anticipated "50 Shades of Grey" soundtrack.

Heartbreak leads Alain Johannes to 'Fragments and Wholes'

Music and loss sent Alain Johannes on some unexpected paths in recent years, including his newest method of charting the creative highs and personal lows: sharing video of songs-in-progress on Instagram.

A year ago, his mother was in the final stages of terminal cancer, and Johannes would use her precious moments of morphine sleep to step outside and react with the beginnings of a new musical idea. Those moments would be captured by a cellphone camera and sent immediately to the singer-guitarist’s followers around the world.

“I started to use it as a little notepad or a little escape, because my mom was getting worse and worse,” says Johannes, 52, former leader of the forward-leaning rock bands Eleven and What Is This, and a frequent collaborator with Joshua Homme of Queens of the Stone Age.

His mother died Jan. 2, 2014. Weeks later, his father also died unexpectedly.

“When I got back from that,” he says now, “I was ready to basically have a total breakdown.”

Johannes eventually worked...
