Dawn Richard Announces Solo Mixtape, Shares ‘Blow’ Video: Watch

Dawn Richard isn’t going to let a bad breakup keep her down.
The breakup in question isn’t a romantic one — rather, it’s the dramatic dissolution of this year’s brief Danity Kane reunion, which occurred after Richard reportedly ended up in a fistfight with fellow member Aubrey O’Day.

Richard is keeping things moving, announcing a new mixtape called Blackheart to be released on Jan. 15. Blackheart is a sequel to 2013’s Goldenheart.
“It’s a completely different sound,” Richard told Billboard. “Lyrically and storytelling-wise, it is in the same fashion of Goldenheart. … But I wanted each album to stand on its own, and have a cohesive story.”
In addition, Richards has dropped a video for the song “Blow” off the project. You can watch her strutting her stuff and crooning her heart out in diamond-studded fangs.
“I really wanted to prove that I had a story to tell,” she said of the new project.
Danity Kane’s final album DK3 is out now, having been released earlier this week.
