If Flash Player is installed on your computer, the following box displays the version of Flash Player and your operating system. If Flash Player is not installed, an error message appears.
Uninstall the older Flash Player version (if the installation is not successful for any reason).
Troubleshoot: Flash Player download issues (if necessary).
Compare your computer system to the Flash Player system requirements. If your system doesn't meet the requirements, don't continue to step 2. See Archived Flash Player versions.
See the Flash Player information displayed above, and check if you have the latest available Flash Player version.
The latest Flash Player version available for Mac OS:- Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 (Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion): 11.6.602.167
- Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5 (Tiger, Leopard): 10.3.183.61
If Flash Player is not installed or you don't have the latest version, download and install the latest Flash Player version.
Important: If you have Mac OS version 10.3 or earlier, or if your Mac does not have an Intel processor, do not download the latest Flash Player version. See Installing Flash Player on PowerPC-based Mac machines.
Go to the Download Adobe Flash Player page by clicking here. The new page that appears looks like the image provided below. In that page, click the Download Now button that is shown in the image. The download starts.
To ensure that the Flash Player installer downloads to your computer, look at the progress bar in the Downloads window. If the bar stops moving before downloading has finished, return to step 1.
If the installer still doesn't download, try the steps in Troubleshoot Flash Player download issues.

To ensure that the Flash Player installer downloads to your computer, look at the progress bar in the Downloads window. If the bar stops moving before downloading has finished, return to step 1.
If the installer still doesn't download, try the steps in Troubleshoot Flash Player download issues.
You don’t have to download Flash Player if you use Chrome. Flash Player is integrated into Chrome and enabled by default. Chrome automatically updates when new versions of Flash Player are available.
To ensure that you have installed the latest version of Chrome and have the latest version of Flash Player, select Chrome > About Google Chrome.

- If you see the message “Google Chrome is up-to-date,” you have the latest version of Chrome.
- If Chrome is not up-to-date, click Update Now.
- If you can't download Chrome, try the steps below under Troubleshoot Flash Player download issues.
Note: The integrated Google Chrome Flash plug-in cannot be uninstalled using the Flash Player uninstaller. You can only enable or disable the integrated plug-in as described in Using Flash Player with Google Chrome.
If you want to install a version that is higher than the integrated Flash Player version in Chrome, follow the steps mentioned below:
Go to the Download Adobe Flash Player page by clicking here. The new page that appears looks like the image provided below. In that page, click the link as shown below:
- Open your browser and check the status of Flash Player.
- For any reason if your installation is not successful, follow the instructions at Uninstall Flash Player.
If you have already tried all of the steps above, but you still can't install or use Flash Player, try the following steps one at a time. After each step, repeat the steps in Download and install the latest Flash Player version.
Try downloading Flash Player when there is less activity on the Internet, such as late evening, early morning, or on weekends.
If you see a pop-up window asking you to install Flash Player after you have installed Flash Player, use a different web browser. For example, if you are using Apple Safari, then try using any other browser like Firefox or Chrome. If you still have problems, get the latest version of your browser.
Allow pop-up windows in your browser or add www.adobe.com to your pop-up blocker exceptions list. In addition, allow third-party cookies. For instructions, see your browser documentation.
- If you run firewalls or network (proxy) software on your Mac, disable or remove software before installing Flash Player.
- Contact Apple to ensure that the hardware works as expected and is not damaged or incorrectly configured.
- If you connect to the Internet through a firewall or proxy server, verify that the device configured correctly. Contact your network administrator for assistance.
Ensure that Flash Player is uninstalled in your computer.

Note: The latest version supported on PowerPC-based Mac machines is Flash Player 10.1.
Select the License Agreement and click Install.
