The city of Granbury, Texas, regulates the drilling and production of oil and gas wells within the city boundary and extra-territorial jurisdiction.

Property Located within the City of Granbury
The proper zoning district must be established to allow for the filing and consideration of a specific use permit, which must be approved by planning and zoning, and the City Council. Please check with city staff to ensure that the property is zoned appropriately prior to filing the specific use permit application.

If the property is correctly zoned, the applicant / operator is required, with the consent of the property owner, to submit the specific use permit application, gas well permit application, and all requisite information in accordance with drilling regulations article 14 of the city of Granbury zoning ordinance, including a master road repair agreement. Approvals of all required applications and permits must be granted prior to commencing drilling activities.

Property Located within the City of Granbury Extra-territorial Jurisdiction
The applicant / operator is required, with the consent of the property owner, to submit to the city a gas well permit application and all necessary information as outlined in ordinance 06-127, including a master road repair agreement, adopted April 18, 2006. Approvals of all required applications and permits must be granted prior to commencing drilling activities.
