Fire Inspection
Duties
The fire inspector performs the following duties for the citizens of Granbury:
  • Enforces codes which have been adopted by the City of Granbury to try and prevent accidents
  • Reviews plans for new building construction within the city limits of Granbury along with fire alarm plans and fire sprinkler plans, and issues permits for the installation of fire alarms, fire sprinkler systems, and commercial cooking suppression systems
  • Works in conjunction with the Public Works Department to insure that there are adequate fire hydrants in newly developed areas
  • Investigates all fires that occur within the city limits and makes a detailed report of the cause of the fire
  • Inspects commercial buildings for hazardous conditions or violations, reporting to the building owner or representative for changes that may make it safer from accidents to occupants or fires that may start
