The chief of the Soldier Fire Department in Jackson County was arrested Sunday on a warrant for two felony counts of theft and five misdemeanor counts of theft.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reports Ryan White is accused of embezzling money when he was treasurer of the Soldier Ball Association in 2012 and 2013. He allegedly wrote checks of more than $1,000 on two occasions from the ball fund to his own business account, and he's accused of taking association funds without authorization on five other occasions.
