An unidentified health care worker at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, who was self monitoring because of possible exposure to the Ebola virus, is on a cruise ship with her husband, according to media reports.
The ship, identified as from the Carnival Magic line, left Galveston on Oct. 12. A Carnival ship reportedly is being held off shore near Belize, according to media reports. Few details were available early Friday.
According to media reports, the worker is in self quarantine on the ship with her husband. The health care worker reportedly handled blood samples from Thomas Eric Duncan, the Liberian man who died Oct. 8 at the hospital from Ebola. She and her husband are not showing any symptoms, according to media reports.
