Weekend Challenge: Cameo

Hey there, mobile mavericks,

This weekend, we're celebrating our slick new integration with Cameo! If you don't already know, Cameo is an amazing iOS app that helps you and your iPhone's camera create fantastic videos. There's an easy-to-search library of free licensed tracks to choose from, a simple interface to keep editing easy, and stunning themes that give your mobile videos a little pizzazz.

Check out this Cameo-created adventure video by William Lü:

The theme for this Challenge is Movement (because it's a mobile video, get it? Anyone?) but the style of video is completely up to you, be it a short short film or two full minutes of bugs at a macro scale (I'm a fan of slo-mo and flowers, as you can see). Creativity is key, and will be rewarded!

The Rules:

+ Create a video using the Cameo app (you can download Cameo here). Remember that only videos made specifically for this Challenge will be considered. If you don't have an iPhone, sit tight for next week's Challenge — we're going to be trying something new!

+ To participate this week, add this tag to your Cameo description: #weekendchallenge

+ Using Cameo, upload your video to Cameo by ***Tuesday, July 29th, 2014*** at 11:59 PM (EST).

The Prizes:

+ The winner will receive a badge on their video, and free Vimeo Plus account for one year! If you're already a Plus member, you'll get another year.

+ The runner-up will receive an extra 3GB of upload space!

All videos must be approved by the Vimeo Staff before appearing in the Group, so don't worry if your video doesn't show up at first; we'll get to it!

We moved from bi-weekly to weekly Challenges so we could push them a little further, which means we may try things that are a little more advanced, or tech-specific like the Cameo Challenge. If you aren't able to participate this week, hopefully next week will be perfectly suited to you!

Cam, I posted video "Murder on the Set" cameo.tv/c/dCWk1EnM to Cameo. I get an error when trying to post it to Vimeo through the Cameo iphone app. Do you I need to download it from Cameo and upload it again to Vimeo?

Great news! Nathan from Cameo got with me promptly. My Cameo account was not linked to my Vimeo account. I logged out of Cameo and logged back in to Cameo using the Vimeo login option. "Murder on the Set" is now posted on Vimeo vimeo.com/102047601 Woo hoo! The planets are now back in alignment. Thanks!

Hello! I didn't include one letter in #weekendchallenge hashtag and now the video ("The sky is pink" on Cameo) doesn't appear in "Vimeo weekend challenge" section. Cameo app doesn't allow to change the original description ..
Any solutions?

What is the bias toward ios and iphones? IOS is not the major market share. Google’s mobile operating system. It’s far more customizable than iOS,. Apple's proprietary paradigm is not something to advocate but rather to challenge.
Is it not enough tha t people obviously use android devices and google products and services on a inclusive level. Marshall McLuhan describes the "content" of a medium as a juicy piece of meat carried by the burglar to distract the watchdog of the mind. Apple is the burglar. They want to control the dog with their juicy piece of meat, the iphone-ios exclusivity paradigm. Thanks for your consideration Vimeo, from a devote android proponent. It is fascinating to watch someone alienate devote Vimeo users and advocates. It is just another reason to appreciate your Youtube channel and avoid the paid subscription model.

Sorry for on off-topic comment here, but is it too late for a video from the 'Pet Portrait' challenge to be added to the group? Or will it just take some days to be approved?
Thanks

Uh, there's a tiny problem. I don't have a iPhone cause my parents say they are expensive, so does this mean I will have to wait until the next challenge? Thanks. :-(
