NRCS Funding Opportunities
Well-established buffer and other wildlife habitat in west central Iowa fit with terraces, pond, conservation tillage and other conservation practices to form a conservation system on the land.
NRCS provides funding opportunities for agriculturalists and others through various programs.
Eligible agricultural producers, landowners and Tribes may apply for financial assistance to help implement conservation practices or establish conservation easements, and grants may be available for eligible groups and organizations to promote new conservation technologies.
Financial Assistance funds eligible agricultural producers, landowners, historically underserved, and Tribes to address various conservation issues such as:

Practices to control erosion and improve water quality (Agricutural Management Assistance - AMA)

Install new or help maintain existing conservation activities and systems (Conservation Stewardship Program - CSP)

Implement conservation practices to address natural resource concerns (Environmental Quality Incentives Program - EQIP)

Improve land and water habitat for wildlife species (Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program - WHIP)
In specific States and locations, funding may also be available for priority issues such as air quality, agricultural energy management plans, seasonal high tunnels and organic operations may be available during fiscal year 2013.
Easements programs are available to landowners who want to protect and enhance their lands to benefit agriculture and the environment. Easement programs provide opportunities for landowners to:

Protect agricultural productivity and related conservation values of the land (Farm and Ranch Lands Protection Program - FRPP)

Restore and protect rangeland, pastureland, and other grasslands while maintaining the land’s suitability for grazing (Grasslands Reserve Program - GRP)

Restore, protect and enhance forest ecosystems to promote recovery of threatened and endangered species (Healthy Forest Reserve Program - HFRP)

Restore, protect, and enhance wetlands on eligible lands (Wetlands Reserve Program - WRP)
The EQIP Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) program awards grants through a competitive process to non-Federal governmental or nongovernmental organizations, including Tribes, or individuals to develop new innovative approaches to conservation and conservation technologies
