09/18/2014 - Governor Quinn Visits Chicago’s Hydro, Inc. as Illinois’ Unemployment Rate Continues to Drop
CHICAGO – As Illinois’ unemployment rate continued to fall to its lowest point in six years, Governor Pat Quinn today visited Hydro, Inc. in Chicago to discuss the state’s ongoing economic recovery. Over the past six months, Illinois' unemployment rate has fallen faster than any other state in the country. Illinois’ unemployment rate dropped for the sixth consecutive month, from 6.8 to 6.7 percent in August, its lowest level since August 2008 and lower than when the Governor took office. Today’s event is part of the Governor’s agenda to create jobs and drive Illinois’ economy forward.
09/17/2014 - Governor Quinn Announces Aluminum Company Will Locate in Southern Illinois
OLMSTED – Governor Pat Quinn today announced that Louisiana-based AFCO Industries Inc., backed by a state investment, is opening an aluminum manufacturing facility in Olmsted that will create 19 jobs. Today’s announcement is part of Governor Quinn’s agenda to create jobs and drive Illinois’ economy forward.

ROCKFORD – Governor Pat Quinn today announced that global aircraft service leader AAR Corporation is opening a new maintenance and repair hangar in Rockford that will create up to 500 new jobs over five years.
