Here's how the space station is about to begin a new era of helping improve weather and hurricane forecasts worldwide.

This weekend we're launching the ISS-RapidScat ocean winds sensor to the station aboard the fourth SpaceX Dragon commercial resupply services mission from Cape Canaveral. For more on RapidScat, visit:

http://www.nasa.gov/jpl/rapidscat/some-assembly-required-in-space/

And there's a lot more NASA Earth Science heading to the station. Read on:

The good news is that NASA experts began to observe hurricanes and other weather conditions improved for the benefit of victims who are most often affected by the hurricane. And that often remain homeless and without property. Let us hope that we will soon see the first results of improving weather conditions. Nice video display.

Boeing's CST-100 and SpaceX's Dragon will be the next American crew space transportation systems! Boeing and SpaceX are expected to have their spacecraft proven and flying from U.S. soil in 2017, including completing a test flight with a NASA astronaut to the International Space Station. These companies won't have to complete the development work by itself – NASA's spaceflight experts in engineering and technology will work closely with the teams to make sure everything is as safe and reliable as it can be.

+Brandon Son Unlike the oil lobbyists.

Upton Sinclair once said "It is impossible to get a man to understand something when his paycheck depends on him not understanding it".

The oil lobby fails to understand it the exact same way tobacco lobbyists didn't understand their product causes cancer - in fact, they do get it, but publicly admitting it would lead to financial ruin.

Remember that for most oil companies, their most valuable asset on their books is the value of the hydrocarbons in whatever deposits they have a lease to drill.  And for the large companies we're talking hundreds of billions of dollars.   Now, if we as a society got serious about carbon emissions, that means a serious burst bubble in the value of their assets.

+Aaron Reichert  Aaron,
So, anyone who flies in a plane to research CO2 concentrations over the arctic is disqualified from having his research findings seriously considered?  How about the huge impact that launching weather watching satellites has on measuring global temperatures?  Those observations are to be discarded if they indicate global warming because the satellite launches helped create the problem?
There are plenty of MD's out there who urge their patients not to smoke, but who smoke themselves; or to exercise more when they themselves are couch potatoes; or to eat healthier when they themselves do not.
How many parents urge their children not to make the same mistakes they did?
Your original comments appear to me little more than a variation of attacking the messenger rather than looking squarely at the problem presented and then honestly working to find solutions, if there are any.
To return to the medical analogy, if the cure to  a disease is some pretty hard medicine, with serious side effects, then it is best if all are fully informed without distractions and finger pointing.
But if the whole point is to distract and delay, as I suspect your comment is, then there is not much more to say.

Introduction

NASA's mission is to pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research. To do that, thousands of people have been working around the world and in space for more than 50 years, trying to answer some basic questions. What's out there in space? How do we get there? What will we find? What can we learn there -- or learn just by trying to get there -- that will make life better here on Earth?

NASA's work is diverse: proving flight technologies; creating capabilities for sustainable human and robotic exploration; exploring Earth, the solar system and the universe beyond; developing critical enabling technologies such as the space shuttle; and conducting science in orbit aboard the International Space Station. With NASA you can explore the universe and discover Earth.
