If you’ve driven on northbound I-405 in Bothell lately, you may have noticed a large construction crane on the side of the road. Crews are setting panels for a noise wall just south of the Canyon Park Park and Ride. The work is part of the project to add a northbound lane I-405 between NE 195th Street and SR 527. Once complete, the noise wall will stretch nearly 1,400 feet and include 120 large panels. The noise barrier is expected to be set in place by mid-April.
The new lane is approximately two miles long and will help improve
northbound congestion for afternoon commuters headed into Bothell and
Snohomish County. It’s expected to be open to traffic by June 2010.
